City of Dreams Hotel Tower in Macau, China, is the new project by Zaha Hadid Architects, developed by Melco Crown Entertainment, owner of casinos and entertainment services for resorts in Asia.
The building is a monolithic volume of 40 floors and an area of 150 000 square meters that it will contain about 780 rooms, suites and sky villas and will be equipped with meeting rooms, a casino, restaurants, spa and sky pool.
The new tower in Macau takes the form of a plastic solid with voids dug in the central part and its design project characterizes the facade with extreme dynamism: the external bearing structure becomes an “exoskeleton” which envelops the entire building and defines its formal composition.
Construction work began in 2013 and will be completed in 2017.
